Here’s something that totally kicked my ass the other day. Julio Iglesias? WTF? I know. I always thought he was some kind of smarmy 80s gigolo for middle-aged divorcées, but boy was I wrong. He’s one awesome guy and even was goalie for Real Madrid in his younger days before he was seriously injured in a car crash which incidentally, is what sparked his singing career. Now he’s one of my faves and this video and song are super awesome. So lets celebrate re-discoveries today; taking another look at the things we discount so quickly without even knowing much about them in the first place. That goes for foods (anchovies are delicious), music (you know you want to love Justin Timberlake, so just do it) and fashion (man-clogs are so on the verge of being the next big thing. I just called it.).
I’d have to say the mood of this song is more depressing than I’d like it to be on my birthday but I’m pretty sure its the only song about turning 28 out there, so I’ll take it. Also I just noticed that today is the only time in my lifetime that I’ll see all of the numbers of my actual birthdate (3/16/80) again (3/16/08). I’ll take that as a good omen. C’mon 28, show me what you got!
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark: Telegraph (extended)
This song used to be my favorite but I forgot about it and haven’t listened to it in like 4 years. Now that I’ve found it, I suddenly feel compelled to call it my ‘favorite song’. Man, I feel like this is a big deal. I’m all giddy inside.. is this really the one??? Wow! I think so..! I’d also definitely place the album in my top 5 too. AND the video transports me to a whole other world. Click on the song name above to watch it. Wow, I’m really happy right now…(and I also realize none of this means anything to you. Just let me have my moment, man…)
