Whoa, what IS that? I’m thinking it’s either one of those plastic bubbles that you blow out of a straw with that bubble-goo (remember those?) or it’s a rhinoceros bladder.

Actually, the rhinoceros bladder is considered the most elegant bladder in the animal kingdom. Wealthy Victorians would display collections of them in their homes. Killing rhinoceroses for their bladders was (and still is) against the law, but the bladders were highly sought after and poaching almost led to the extinction of the rhino. So, my wondering if it was a rhino bladder was actually a compliment.
